A plain weekly money report from Xero that you'll read

Xero has all your money numbers, but the reports are written for accountants. Most owners glance at the bank balance and hope for the best until the end of the quarter. We set up a short weekly report built from your Xero numbers, with a plain note on cash in the bank, bills coming up, who owes you, and how this month compares to last. It arrives in your inbox, short enough to read on your phone. Your bookkeeper and accountant still own the books.

What you get

What we set up for you with Xero

01

A weekly report that arrives on its own

Cash, bills due, money owed to you, and sales pulled from Xero into one short report, on the same morning each week.

02

A note in plain words

An AI helper writes a few lines on what changed and what to keep an eye on, without accounting terms.

03

Who to chase

A short list of overdue invoices, so you know who to follow up before it becomes a problem.

04

Bills coming up

What's due in the next couple of weeks, so a big bill never arrives as a surprise.

05

Your accountant stays in charge

The report reads from Xero and never changes anything. Your bookkeeper and accountant keep the books.

You only see the full money picture once a quarter

Day to day, you check the bank balance and hope it lines up with what you think is coming in and going out. The full picture arrives when your bookkeeper or accountant sends something through, usually weeks after the month has closed. By then, an overdue invoice has gone cold, or a big bill has landed in the same week as payroll.

Why Xero on its own doesn’t do the job

Xero holds every number you need. Its reports are thorough, and its dashboard gives a quick view of the bank and invoices.

But the reports are built for people who read accounts for a living. Profit and loss, aged receivables, and balance sheets are accurate and hard to skim on a phone at 9pm. Xero also waits for you to log in and pick the right report. Most owners don’t, because there’s always something more urgent.

How we set it up with Xero

We start with a short chat about what you want to know each week. Usually it’s how much cash there is, what’s due, who owes you, and whether this month is better or worse than last. That’s mapping how you work (the industry calls it process mapping), applied to one weekly question.

Then we set up an AI helper (the industry calls it an agent) that reads those numbers from Xero each week and builds a short report. A few plain lines at the top say what changed and what to watch. Below that sit the overdue invoices to chase and the bills due soon. The AI helper only reads from Xero. It never codes, approves, or pays anything.

The report is only as good as what’s in Xero. When bills get entered promptly, the picture is current. We work with a five-person online homewares store whose supplier invoices are now drafted into Xero by an AI helper and approved by the bookkeeper in one sitting a week. Read the homewares store story. A file kept up to date like that is what makes a weekly report worth reading.

When a Xero report is the right call, and when it isn’t

It pays off when your Xero file is kept fairly current, you have more than a handful of invoices and bills each month, and you want to know where you stand without logging in.

If your bookkeeping is months behind, fix that first, because a report built on old numbers will mislead you. And for questions about tax or structure, talk to your accountant. The report shows you the numbers. It doesn’t give financial advice.

FAQs

Common questions

Doesn't Xero already have reports?
Yes. Xero has a full set of reports, such as profit and loss, balance sheet, and aged receivables, plus a dashboard. They're accurate but written for people who read accounts. We pull the parts you need into a short note in everyday words.
Can the report change anything in Xero?
No. It only reads. Nothing gets coded, approved, or paid by the report.
How accurate is it?
The numbers are only as current as your Xero file. If bank feeds haven't been reconciled or bills haven't been entered, the report will be behind too. We flag when the data looks out of date.
Will it replace my accountant?
No. Tax, BAS, and advice stay with your bookkeeper and accountant. The report helps you understand your own numbers between their visits.
What does it cost?
Every package has a fixed price, shown on the packages page. The Solo package covers 1 AI helper set up and kept running, 2 hours a month of our time, and the AI running costs, for $990 a month.
