Small apps and websites built around how you already work

What we build

Plenty of small businesses run a key part of the week on a spreadsheet, a whiteboard, or a form someone built years ago. It works until the person who understands it is away. The off-the-shelf app you tried made you bend your week around its way of doing things, so the team drifted back to the old workaround. We build the small app, order form, booking page, or website your team needs, around the way you already work. AI has made this kind of build faster and cheaper than it used to be, so a small team can have a tool shaped to its own week. We keep it small, build the first useful version first, and keep it running for you after it's live.

Where small teams get stuck

Most small businesses have one part of the week that runs on something held together by hand. It might be a spreadsheet that only the owner understands, a whiteboard by the kitchen, or a contact form that drops enquiries into an inbox nobody checks on weekends.

We work with a six-person cafe with a catering arm where orders came in three ways: email, phone, and a web form. Staff copied each one onto a whiteboard. It worked on quiet weeks. On busy weeks an order could sit in the inbox and never reach the board.

Why off-the-shelf and a big build both miss

The first fix most owners try is a new app. Off-the-shelf tools are often good, and they suit plenty of businesses. But they’re built for the way their makers think you work. If your week doesn’t match, you either change how you run the business to suit the tool or keep a workaround next to it.

The other option, a big custom build quoted for months, doesn’t suit a team of one to ten either. It costs too much, takes too long, and by the time it arrives your needs have moved.

What fits a small team sits in between. It’s a small tool, built around one job, connected to the apps you already run, and changed as you learn what you need.

How we build it

We keep each build small and show you something useful early.

  1. Start with the job. We map the one task the tool needs to do, like getting every catering order onto one prep list, and agree what done looks like.
  2. Check what you already have. If Square, Shopify, or a well-set-up Google Sheet can do it, we set that up instead of building.
  3. Build the first version. We use AI coding tools to build faster, with proper checks on the code, so it works with real orders and real customers.
  4. Put it in front of your team. You use it for a week or two and tell us what’s wrong. We fix it.
  5. Keep it running. Once it’s live, it’s looked after inside your package. If something breaks, we fix it.

What changes in your week

For the cafe, orders from email, phone, and the form now gather into one sheet with a daily prep list, and there were no missed orders in the first two months. Phone orders are still typed in by staff, because the phone doesn’t write anything down on its own.

For The Orchard Barn, an eight-person wedding venue in the Barossa, every enquiry used to need a custom quote from a price sheet, which took up to 3 days. An AI helper now drafts the quote and a reply from the enquiry form, and quotes go out within a day. The events manager still calls every couple before they book.

Built for small teams

We build for owner-operators with one to ten staff, so we size every tool for that. See how it applies in hospitality and events, e-commerce, coaching and online education, and not-for-profits. If you already have an app that was built with AI and has stopped working, see fixing AI-built apps.

What's included

What we build

01

Small internal apps

Order boards, prep lists, quote builders, and rosters that replace the spreadsheet or whiteboard your week runs on, built so anyone on the team can use them.

02

Forms and booking pages

Enquiry forms, order forms, and booking pages that send each request to the right place, with the details you need on the first go.

03

Websites that do a job

Simple websites on tools like Squarespace, Wix, or Shopify, set up so enquiries and orders flow into the rest of your business instead of sitting in a separate inbox.

04

AI built into the app

Where it helps, we add an AI helper inside the tool, like drafting a quote from an enquiry or a reply from an order.

05

Connected to what you run

Your new tool talks to Square, Xero, Gmail, or Google Sheets, so nobody types the same thing twice.

06

Yours to keep

The code and accounts sit with you, with plain notes on how it works, so you're never stuck if you stop working with us.

FAQs

Common questions

Do I need a custom app, or will an off-the-shelf tool do?
Most of the time, an off-the-shelf tool will do, and we'll tell you so. A custom app makes sense when the tools you've tried keep forcing a workaround, or when one job needs bits from three different apps. We'd rather set up Shopify or Square properly than build something you don't need.
What's an example of a small app you'd build?
We work with a six-person cafe with a catering arm whose orders came by email, phone, and form and were copied onto a whiteboard. Orders now gather into one sheet with a daily prep list, and there were no missed orders in the first two months. Phone orders are still typed in by staff.
How much does it cost?
Small builds and their upkeep fit inside our fixed-price packages. Solo is $990 a month and covers 1 AI helper set up and kept running, 2 hours a month of our time, and AI running costs. Small Team is $1,950 a month with 2 AI helpers, half a day a month of our time, a monthly review call, and AI running costs. The packages page lists all four, and we'll tell you up front which one a build needs.
Can you fix or finish a website or app someone else started?
Yes. If it was built with an AI coding tool and has stopped working, see our page on fixing AI-built apps. If it was built the traditional way, we look at it first and tell you whether to repair it or start again.
Who owns the app once it's built?
You do. The code, the accounts, and the data sit with you, along with plain notes on how it all works. If you ever stop working with us, it keeps running.
How long does a small app take?
It depends on the job and what it connects to, so we look first and then tell you. We always aim to get a first useful version in front of your team early, so you can tell us what's wrong before we build more.
