Process mapping

Mapping how you work (the industry calls it process mapping) means writing down each step of a job as it really happens, who does it, and which tools it touches. It's where most of our work starts, because it shows where the hours go before anyone spends money on AI. We work with an animal rescue with one paid coordinator and 45 volunteers, where the weekly roster was built by hand from texts. Mapping it showed the slow part was collecting who could work, not deciding who should. Now an AI helper (the industry calls it an agent) collects availability, drafts the roster, and messages the gaps, and the roster takes an hour instead of an evening. A map only helps if it shows the messy real version, so the people who do the job must help draw it.
